Submission Guidelines


1. Write your story in the first person.

2. Begin the story with something that immediately catches the attention of your reader.

3. Wherever possible endeavor to include dialogue.

4. Include your own feelings.

5. Write the story in the way you might tell it to a good friend, including explanations as necessary.

6. Remember the goodness factor. You are telling a story to entertain so you are telling it to elicit a reaction, whether to make the person laugh, feel good all over, feel a take your breath away kind of feeling or fill the person with amazement and hope.

7. As you write your story try to recall how you felt through the event. Let your words come from your heart.

8. Stories must be no more than 800 words.

9. For our records and NOT FOR PUBLICATION, please include your e-mail address. Telephone number is optional.

10. Remember the stories must be non-fiction, also keep a copy of the stories that you submit.

11. Stories are to be sent by e-mail to milady at evrcanada.com (replace at with @) and be sure to include your name, your email address (this will NOT be published), where you live (city or town), the title of the story, and of course, the story itself. You might also want to include a bit of biographical information but that is optional.


Helpful Suggestions


1. Provide us with your e-mail address and you will be informed as to the date your story will run.

2. Feel free to submit more than one story for consideration at any time. And think of your story as a gift to thousands of readers!

3. Read some of the stories submitted to us by other authors. These could be inspirations as reading the stories of other authors often triggers more memories for us of similar events in our own lives.

4. You do not have to be a published author to write. You only need to know you have a good story to tell and start writing.

5. Best advice when writing a story - When you first write it, leave it for an hour or a day and read it again. You will discover a need to edit. Do this more than once and you will discover how much better your story becomes.
