WHITE WOOL SOCKS

My dad was 87 when he passed on after a long fight with cancer. I was prepared, I thought, because during the time of his illness, we had a chance to talk about death and what was in store when we go to the light. I have studied religion, theology and mythology for over 40 years.

We talked about what Jesus said, that his father had many mansions and that he went before us to prepare a place for us. I was at the bedside with my dad before he passed and he described on two occasions that there were "people" waiting for him and that they had set a table of food for him and he was ready to go.

In another instant there was another group of four that were waiting for him when he was ready. So dad was quite content when he passed on.

Mike refers to a talk he and I had in this next section:
You are right when you described the body having no life at the instant of death because that's what I felt. I knew he had gone to the light as he told me he would.

Three days after dad died he came to me in a dream. Mom and I went shopping for some socks and a hat the day after he passed and mom had told me that we had to buy him so warm socks because his feet were always so cold. We shopped and bought him a pair of warm white wool socks, the kind he used to wear when he went ice fishing. We collected all the items and took them over to the funeral parlor and went home.

The next night, which was the third night after, he came to me in a dream. We were in a department store shopping for clothing for a fishing trip. It seemed like both of us were going on the trip. The last item we bought was a pair of warm white woolen socks. He smiled at me and said they would be very warm. At this point he turned and opened a door in a window wall walked through, turned and motioned to me that he was going to be fine and that he was going alone. I watched as he walked away. He seemed to walk into a light and was gone. I thought that was a message dream from him to me to assure me he was fine.
